Hi, lovelies! If you have read my recent posts, you will know that I have gone on a bit of a Foundation buying spree. I recently bought the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation which was so good it made it into my March favourites. With the success of that foundation, I thought I would give the L’Oreal Infallible Longwear Shaping stick foundation a try. My skin has been very dry recently, so when buying foundations at the moment I have been looking for more of a dewy finish, a hydrating formula, and one that doesn’t cling to my dry patches. Is this the foundation for me?

The packaging

So if you haven’t guessed from the picture, the L’Oreal Infallible Longwear is a stick foundation. I used to absolutely hate stick foundations but after loving the Primark hydrating foundation, I am converted. This stick is all black with simple white lettering but with a hint of silver detail. Like the Primark foundation stick, the lid is clear but with some black detail so you can see which shade you are reaching for. This is handy, as the shaping sticks can also be used for contouring and highlighting, so you know exactly which shade to pick up. The packaging feels quite light and not very luxurious, but would be very handy for travelling and on the go makeup!

The foundation:

Although this foundation stick is considerably larger than the Primark one, there is actually 2g less product, with 9g in total. The foundation costs £8.99, not terrible, but definitely not the cheapest out there. There are 12 shades to choose from to find your perfect match! I decided to choose the shade Ivory (100) as I am pale as hell. I pretty much always go for one of the lightest shades. I didn’t realise this when I purchased it but this foundation is matte, so you oily girls will love this.

The foundation claims:

  • A highly pigmented, creamy formula that melts into the skin
  • blendable and buildable
  • lasts for 24 hours

Does it live up to the claims?

So as I said this foundation is matte. That is not what I wanted. When I initially swiped this across my face, I definitely thought it was creamy. It glided beautifully without tugging at my skin, a lot easier than the Primark dupe. This is a matte foundation but it felt really comfortable on the skin. It didn’t cling to any of my dry patches and I found that over the day it did melt more into my skin and felt more velvety. I would totally agree that this foundation is highly pigmented, as you don’t need much to get a decent level of coverage. I tried this L’Oreal Infallible stick with both a brush and a sponge and it blended out so easily with both tools. After much deliberation, I decided that applying with a sponge is the way to go for me as it makes it slightly more dewy for my dry skin. You can definitely build this up to full coverage without getting cake face – a plus! Now, I can’t say I have worn this foundation for 24 hours but I have gotten close. I put this foundation on before work at around 6 am and probably take it off at around 8 pm. After that long, there are some dry, flaky patches (tends to happen to most of my foundations) but as a whole, it looks pretty good!

Final thoughts

Overall I really enjoy this foundation, and since buying it I have used it a lot. For a matte foundation, I didn’t think I would like it as much as I do, and I know that in the summer (when my skin gets more oily) it will be perfect. If you want a quick and easy foundation that looks fab all day – definitely try it out!

Have you tried this foundation? Or any of the L’Oreal foundations? They are my absolute favourites at the minute.

Hi, lovelies! Another month has been and gone and so it is only right that I do another monthly favourites post! Happy Easter, by the way, I hope you spend it like I am (eating too much chocolate). I feel like March has flown by but there were some new beauty items that I have been loving. Keep on reading to find out my March favourites and let me know what you have been loving this month in the comments.

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Soft glam palette

I won’t go into too much detail about why I love this palette so much, as you can read all my thoughts in my recent review. All you really need to know is… I adore this palette. It has pretty much been my go to ever since I bought it and with the versatility of the colours… who could blame me? I have been wearing this palette whenever I have gotten the chance and it performs beautifully. All of the shades are stunning, they blend seamlessly and have so much pigment that a little really does go a long way. I had to put it into my favourites this month simply because of all the compliments I get whenever I wear it. On a night out recently I wore more of a smoky look, with ‘Sultry’ all over the lid with a hint of ‘Bronze’. These shimmers, along with lots of mattes in my crease to add definition, really give a tied together look! It is annoying that the packaging is getting grubby already, but with these shadows, I don’t care. Simply amazing.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro Glow foundation

So I have had dry ass skin recently and so I have been buying any hydrating foundations that I can find (if you know of any good ones, let me know in the comments!) It has been causing me lot’s of trouble with my normal foundations making my skin look dry and flaky. This one is my new favourite. This foundation is extremely lightweight but still provides good coverage to hide all my red patches and blemishes. It gives a beautiful dewy finish, so if you have dewy skin this is not the one for you! With 12 shades available in the UK, available exclusively on *Amazon, I found my perfect match (201) and it looks fabulous all day without oxidising. I have been using this foundation to death, and I already know I am going to purchase it again I love it that much!

Primark Moisturising Foundation Stick

Okay, another foundation I’m sorry! But I did say I have been buying lots of foundations! I did an entire review on this foundation here if you want more detail, but this foundation is an absolute steal! At only £2.50, this foundation gives great coverage, a dewy…ish finish (more velvety) and is perfect for a fast morning routine or for on the go! Overall this is a great foundation and at such a low price, you can’t lose! I have never really tried stick foundations before but this one has convinced me! I have already purchased the L’Oreal Infallible shaping stick *foundation, so if you would like a review let me know in the comments.

French Connection Brow Pencil

If you read my Everyday makeup routine, you will know that brows take forever for me to do. I normally just use a brow pomade but recently to speed up the process I have been using the French Connection brown pencil. Yes, you read that correctly, French Connection do makeup. I was just as surprised as you are. Like I said, I don’t normally use brow pencils so I am pretty sure any pencil would do the job, but as I already had this in my collection I thought I would give it a go. I really like it! It now only takes a few minutes to do brows, compared to 10 minutes before and I am loving it. Please let me know you’re favourite brow pencil in the comments as I would really like to try some more.

Primark PS Chocolate Cheek Palette

Yes another Primark product. I’ve been testing a lot of their products recently and they are killing it. If you read my ‘Testing Primark’s Chocolate range’, you will know that I initially liked the Cheek palette but I wasn’t blown away by it. I have been continuing to try it over the past few weeks and I am obsessed with the Bronzer and highlight. The bronzer is beautiful, it doesn’t make me look like a walking, talking Satsuma and blends like a dream. I love the highlight to, not too brightening and so great for everyday wear. The blushers, I’m still not obsessed with, but then again I’m not a blusher kind of gal. But I will continue to use the palette as it is such a bargain!

So those were my favourites! What have you been loving this month?

Thanks for reading, as always,

Hi, lovelies! I’m back again with another monthly favourites post! I originally intended this post to be posted at the beginning of March, but seeing as today is the last day of Feb, I thought why not?! I actually haven’t bought any new makeup this month (… I think, shock horror right?), but I did rediscover some old favourites that I love and thought I’d share them with you.

L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Glow Scrub

This was actually a very recent purchase, I only bought it less than a week ago but I love this. This is now my all-time favourite face exfoliator and I use it twice a day! My skin has gotten very dry recently and it started to look quite flaky (gross I know) and so I needed something quick to get it all smooth again. The scrub exfoliates gently and makes my skin look so much brighter and smoother, and feels so much cleaner. Ps. If you would like a skin care routine, let me know in the comments!

The Greatest Showman Soundtrack

If you follow me on Twitter you will know that this month I went to go watch The Greatest Showman – I fell in love. Like seriously, I love this film. Ever since I watched it I have had the soundtrack on repeat. It is BRILLIANT. Every time I listen to it, I feel motivated and inspired. TIP: Listen before writing blog posts for quick motivation haha. If you haven’t seen the film yet I would definitely recommend it. I listen to the music in the car and at work, I can’t get enough right now.

Too Faced Hangover Primer

With my dry ass skin recently, I needed something moisturising before putting on my foundation. I thought I would re-try my Too Faced Primer… and it’s been a life-saver this month! It is really hydrating and gives my skin a real moisture boost, and makes my foundation go on beautifully. It even made it into my post about high-end products worth the splurge, so it was guaranteed to be in this month’s favourites!

Benefit Dandelion Twinkle Highlighter

This one is another oldy but a goldy, I have basically used it every day for the past month! It gives such a subtle pink-toned glow which is great for a day-time look compared to my ultra-glowy highlighters. Despite this, you can still build it up to get that bright glow if you want it! It lasts all day long without looking greasy or wet looking. It has lasted so long without me hitting pan. Overall, definitely a great purchase if you can get your hands on it.

Primark ‘Gucci’ Handbag

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that Primark have some GREAT stuff at the minute (let me know if you want a spring haul). There are also a lot of accessories with Gucci vibes… including this bag! It is so stunning, and the beetle detail is beautiful. For only £7, it is a much more affordable alternative to the expensive Gucci vibes. With the black and gold features, it is so easy to style with any outfit and is big enough to fit in the essentials.

So those are my monthly favourites! What were your favourites this month? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading as always!

2017 was an amazing year for makeup, and with so many amazing products released my bank account was feeling pretty sorry for itself! With the new year now here, I thought I’d give you guys an overview of all of my favourite makeup items of 2017.

Primer: Before 2017, I had never really bothered with primers and didn’t understand the big hoo-haa about them. Last year I thought I’d finally see what the fuss was all about! The YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer was hands down my favourite. First of all, the packaging is absolutely GORGEOUS, I love how it is gold to match the actual product on the inside. The primer is so silky and smooth and makes my skin look flawless and my foundation to apply beautifully. It really does live up to the hype.

Foundation: I have tried SO many foundations this year to try and work with my combination skin and found that the Bourjois Healthy Mix anti-fatigue foundation was the true winner! I wear the shade ’52 vanilla’ and it is the perfect colour for my skin. I have always been self conscious about my skin and this foundation provides enough coverage to make my skin appear flawless without being too heavy. I also love the demi matte finish which is perfect for the winter months.

Concealer: There is only one concealer that I have repurchased time and time again and that is the Maybelline The eraser eye in the shade ‘light’. It is brightens the under eye and really erases my terrible dark circles… and the best part? It doesn’t crease on me!

Powder: I was very torn between my two favourite powders: The Laura Mercier Loose setting powder and the Rimmel Stay Matte. They are both amazing but the Rimmel powder just takes the lead because of how cheap it is! It keeps my shine at bay for a good 5-6 hours, and a top up doesn’t cause my foundation to look cakey… LOVE.

Bronzer: Hands down, the Benefit Hoola bronzer is the best bronzer on the market. It is the perfect shade for my pale skin so I don’t look like I work with Willie Wonker and is quite cool toned and so is great for contouring! It lasts so long that after nearly two years (yes I know thats gross) I only now got one for Christmas!

Highlighter: Another Benefit win this year with the Dandelion twinkle highlighter. It gives just enough glow without being too blinding for every day wear. It is a beautiful pink shade and I always get compliments whenever i wear it.

Brows: This was a tricky one because I absolutely hate brow maintenance. I only bought this product recently but it is my new favourite and makes doing my brows much less of a chore. I use the colour ’04 Espresso’ which matches my hair brilliantly.

Mascara: Again another recent discovery is the Loreal Lash paradise mascara. It makes such a massive difference to my lashes that I have been asked if I’ve been wearing falsies when wearing it! This has finally knocked my Urban Decay Perversion mascara off the podium.

Eyes: Lastly, the Morphe Jaclyn Hill palette has to take the crown for the best eyeshadow palette I have purchased this year! I was really hesitant to buy this palette, thinking it was overhyped… but after BeautyBay restocked it, I gave in… I am SOOOOO glad I did! The shadows are so pigmented, blend effortlessly and look stunning on the eye! It is going to be a tough one to beat in 2018.

So, those are my favourite makeup items of 2017, comment below which your favourite product has been this year! Thankyou for reading ❤️
