Hi lovelies, I am back again with my monthly favourites post! Sorry, my favourites for April are slightly delayed, but I did love so many things that month that I just had to share them with you! So here are my April Favourites!

Beauty

There were loads of beauty products that I loved throughout April, but I have managed to narrow them down to just a few! I really should stop spending money on makeup it is getting a bit of a problem. If any of you have any tips to stop this, please let me know in the comments haha! I won’t spend too long rambling on about these products as many of them have already been featured here on my blog!

Primark K-pop Sweet Cheeks palette

I recently did an entire review of this palette, which you can read here! I am not kidding when I say I have been using the highlighters every single day for weeks now. I literally love them. At first I started wearing Lemon Sherbet on its own because it’s perfect for your pale ass friend over here. Lately, I have been mixing all the shades (but not Bon Bon because that’s too pink for me), and they give such a beautiful glow to the skin without looking too glittery (which I hate). When I first tried the palette I wasn’t that fussed about the cherry smell but now I love it! It’s nice to have that little touch at 6 am when I’m half asleep doing my makeup! The highlight lasts all day, can be subtle or glowy af depending on your preference and blends beautifully. What more can you want with a cheap highlighter palette?

Primark Ps Radiant Primer

Okay, another product from Primark, I’m sorry! I can’t help it they’ve been really stepping up their game lately. If you follow my blog you will know that I do a ‘Testing Primark Makeup’ series, so it will be no surprise to you that there is a full post on this product here. I won’t go into too much detail but basically, this will turn you into a glowing goddess. Okay maybe not, but it will give you a lovely shine to the skin, perfect for the summer months. It only peeks through under foundation a little bit, but just enough to give a subtle glow, so you don’t look like you’ve just done an entire workout. It also makes my foundation apply much nicer as well, so for £3 you are getting an absolute bargain.

L’Oreal True Match Foundation

So this was a strange one for me. I actually bought this foundation a while ago, and absolutely hated it. So much so, that I didn’t touch it again… until a few weeks ago. My skin has changed quite a lot in the past few months, originally I was combo and had some oily sections but now my skin is dry af. I thought I would retry this foundation, and I am so happy I did. I can understand why it is lots of bloggers go to foundation. It gives enough coverage to hide my blemishes without looking too cakey, gives a beautiful subtle glow and lasts all day. Good enough for me! I am so happy I tried this foundation again, and I will definitely repurchase in the future.

Morphe Y6 Pro Flat Buffer Brush

Okay, my last beauty fave (I told you I had a lot). I normally don’t use brushes to apply my foundation, as I often find it makes me look cakey and streaky. But this brush has changed my mind. It blends beautifully, no streaks, and gives more coverage than my normal sponge. It is a beautiful gold colour and is really well made. The bristles are really densely packed, perfect if you like that full glam coverage look. Overall a solid brush and I will definitely be trying more of Morphe’s range in the future.

My Makeup storage

So My Makeup storage post has been gaining a lot of views recently (2.3k pins on Pinterest…wow!). I hope it has given you guys some inspo on how you could store your makeup and get your collection more organised! I don’t have much to say on this, other than I still love it! It makes doing my makeup so much more enjoyable, and, because I can’t see the products at the back properly, it is like a lucky dip what product I get. It has made me retry products I forgot I had (I’m looking at you L’Oreal). I now love doing my makeup every morning!

Running

Okay, the last one I’m sorry. I didn’t expect this post to be this long! If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen me complaining about running. In exactly 10 days (eek) I will be running the Manchester 10k for the British Heart Foundation! I was absolutely dreading the run at first, but after completing my first 10k a few days ago, I feel much more positive. It’s great to know that I can do it! I mean I may be dying by the finish line, but as long as I cross it I am not too fussed!

So those are my favourites! What have you been loving this month?

Thanks for reading,

Chlo x

Hi, lovelies! Another month has been and gone and so it is only right that I do another monthly favourites post! Happy Easter, by the way, I hope you spend it like I am (eating too much chocolate). I feel like March has flown by but there were some new beauty items that I have been loving. Keep on reading to find out my March favourites and let me know what you have been loving this month in the comments.

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Soft glam palette

I won’t go into too much detail about why I love this palette so much, as you can read all my thoughts in my recent review. All you really need to know is… I adore this palette. It has pretty much been my go to ever since I bought it and with the versatility of the colours… who could blame me? I have been wearing this palette whenever I have gotten the chance and it performs beautifully. All of the shades are stunning, they blend seamlessly and have so much pigment that a little really does go a long way. I had to put it into my favourites this month simply because of all the compliments I get whenever I wear it. On a night out recently I wore more of a smoky look, with ‘Sultry’ all over the lid with a hint of ‘Bronze’. These shimmers, along with lots of mattes in my crease to add definition, really give a tied together look! It is annoying that the packaging is getting grubby already, but with these shadows, I don’t care. Simply amazing.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro Glow foundation

So I have had dry ass skin recently and so I have been buying any hydrating foundations that I can find (if you know of any good ones, let me know in the comments!) It has been causing me lot’s of trouble with my normal foundations making my skin look dry and flaky. This one is my new favourite. This foundation is extremely lightweight but still provides good coverage to hide all my red patches and blemishes. It gives a beautiful dewy finish, so if you have dewy skin this is not the one for you! With 12 shades available in the UK, available exclusively on *Amazon, I found my perfect match (201) and it looks fabulous all day without oxidising. I have been using this foundation to death, and I already know I am going to purchase it again I love it that much!

Primark Moisturising Foundation Stick

Okay, another foundation I’m sorry! But I did say I have been buying lots of foundations! I did an entire review on this foundation here if you want more detail, but this foundation is an absolute steal! At only £2.50, this foundation gives great coverage, a dewy…ish finish (more velvety) and is perfect for a fast morning routine or for on the go! Overall this is a great foundation and at such a low price, you can’t lose! I have never really tried stick foundations before but this one has convinced me! I have already purchased the L’Oreal Infallible shaping stick *foundation, so if you would like a review let me know in the comments.

French Connection Brow Pencil

If you read my Everyday makeup routine, you will know that brows take forever for me to do. I normally just use a brow pomade but recently to speed up the process I have been using the French Connection brown pencil. Yes, you read that correctly, French Connection do makeup. I was just as surprised as you are. Like I said, I don’t normally use brow pencils so I am pretty sure any pencil would do the job, but as I already had this in my collection I thought I would give it a go. I really like it! It now only takes a few minutes to do brows, compared to 10 minutes before and I am loving it. Please let me know you’re favourite brow pencil in the comments as I would really like to try some more.

Primark PS Chocolate Cheek Palette

Yes another Primark product. I’ve been testing a lot of their products recently and they are killing it. If you read my ‘Testing Primark’s Chocolate range’, you will know that I initially liked the Cheek palette but I wasn’t blown away by it. I have been continuing to try it over the past few weeks and I am obsessed with the Bronzer and highlight. The bronzer is beautiful, it doesn’t make me look like a walking, talking Satsuma and blends like a dream. I love the highlight to, not too brightening and so great for everyday wear. The blushers, I’m still not obsessed with, but then again I’m not a blusher kind of gal. But I will continue to use the palette as it is such a bargain!

So those were my favourites! What have you been loving this month?

Thanks for reading, as always,

Chloe x

Hi lovelies! When I was writing about my blogging experience so far in last weeks post, I thought that although lots of you follow me… none of you really know me. So I thought today I would change that! Although I don’t keep my blog anonymous, you only get to know what I want you to know. After three months of blogging, this is the perfect time for you to get to know the girl behind the blog.

The girl behind the blog

This may seem a bit obvious, considering the name of this blog, but I am the ‘Chloe’ behind ‘Being-chloe.com’. So Hi, this is me (she says awkwardly). Other than the picture in the sidebar (and all of my social media), many of you probably don’t even know what I look like. Even if you follow me on Instagram, you will have only seen one or two pictures of my face. I don’t tend to have a lot of confidence in posting my selfies all over social media, and I feel awkward when people take pictures of me. So consider yourselves lucky you get this one haha!

What do I do?

So, a little bit about me. I am currently 21 years old, studying Pharmacology at the University of Manchester. That’s not studying farms by the way… I get that a lot. Think pharmaceuticals. Although I am learning all about drugs and their interactions in the body, this year I am on a placement year in a molecular biology lab. I love my job at the moment and I am so happy I decided to take a year out of education but I am looking forward to going back to Uni in September. I always knew that I wanted to do a Science degree, but it wasn’t until college that I found Pharmacology. It is such a broad, fascinating subject to learn… difficult but enjoyable. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love being in Manchester, It is quite close to home but I am happy that I can still live at Uni rather than with the fam. I still get that sense of independence.

What do I love?

I love lots of things; my friends, my family, my little doggy. They have been so supportive over the last year and I don’t know where I’d be without them. But to get to the basic white girl stuff haha, I love makeup, chicken nuggets, blogging and Harry Potter. I think those four things just sum me up perfectly. If you asked any of my friends about my loves they would say nuggs and HP (and The Wanted… they were my teenage obsession). I think I’m pretty simple in that sense, I know what I like and I stick to it.

What do I hate?

I think that ties in with what I hate: change and trying new things. I recently tried bacon and hash browns for the first time and it was actually a massive achievement. I think I just heard lots of you gasp in horror. Yes I have only just tried bacon… get over it haha. Good news, I actually quite enjoyed it. I hate negativity (even though I can be negative sometimes), I hate flakiness and cheese. Had to get that in there… I am not  a big fan of cheese.

The very lovely Megan over on Twitter (@Inmegansmind), gave me some Questions to answer, so let’s go!

What’s one makeup product you couldn’t live without?

This was actually a really difficult question. As I said before, I don’t have a lot of confidence and so I very rarely leave the house without wearing some form of makeup. If you saw my ‘Everyday makeup routine’ post you will know that for day to day wear I keep things pretty simple. I personally couldn’t live without a lot of my makeup, but I think Foundation/concealer and brow products are my absolute essentials. Foundation because I am not that confident with my skin and brows because… well I look weird with no brows. My current faves are the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-glow foundation and the French connection brow pencil!

When did you first start wearing makeup?

I am not sure precisely what age I started wearing makeup. I have a feeling I was about 12 when I started to get acne. I know that is quite early but it was only a little bit of foundation and probably some mascara. By the end of high school, I had ventured slightly into brows, but they were still very sparse. It was college when I got my first Naked Palette and I think that was the turning point of where my love for makeup began. I obviously now love makeup (hence the blog) and it is one of my biggest passions (even though I am not necessarily the best).

What inspired you to start your blog?

This is quite an interesting question for me. In all honesty, I started my blog as a distraction. I wasn’t in the best place personally when I started my blog and I needed something to focus on. I needed an activity that would keep me busy and allow me to be more creative, in the hopes I would get into a more positive mindset. If you read my ‘Blogging experience so far’ post, you will know that I didn’t think I would be blogging for very long, but now it is something I am so passionate about. No-one is more surprised than I am about this. I truly love blogging. I have developed more creativity, love writing and engaging with lots of other bloggers out there.

What has been the best thing about blogging so far for you?

The best thing about blogging so far for me personally is all of the skills I am starting to develop. I used to be crap at photography, and I think I have definitely improved. There is such a long way to go but there are definitely signs of improvement. I feel like I am better at technology and computers in general and I am loving the learning process.

5 Fun facts:

  1. I hate getting rid of makeup. I know that it’s important to declutter but it hurts my feelings when I have to throw things away.
  2. I drink way too much tea – it’s actually a problem. I go to the toilet so much at work because of all the tea I drink.
  3. When I was born, I was teeny tiny. I was born 10 weeks early and so weighed only 3 pounds!
  4. When Harry Potter and The Wanted ended I cried my eyes out. A lot. It’s embarrassing.
  5. I am a big overthinker, but it is something I am working on.

So that’s me! The girl behind the blog. There is lot’s more to know but I don’t want to bore you all. Leave a fun fact about yourself in the comments, I would love to know.

Thanks for reading,

Chloe x

Hi lovelies! Today’s post will be a chatty one, I will probably ramble on for far too long, but I will try to keep it as short as possible! I have been blogging for almost three months now and it has been one incredible journey! I did a post similar to this after my very first month of blogging, so I thought I would do an update on what has happened over the past 2 months.

Going Self-hosted

If you have followed me from the very beginning (well done for putting up with me for that long), you will know that I was originally on the wordpress.com personal plan. I still had this domain name and so not much may have changed for you, but for me, everything has changed. After the first month, I made the spontaneous, bold choice to make being-chloe.com self-hosted! That’s right, this baby is all mine! I won’t go into too much detail, as there is a whole entire post on my reasonings and the process. Let’s just say I am super happy with my blog now! Back then, I liked my blog but I hated how it looked. I wanted full independence to brand this blog to my tastes and make it.. well Chlo! Now I like looking at my site, and going self-hosted has motivated me more in making my blog a success! I strive to take better pictures, write better quality posts and actually promote my blog. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I am so happy that my post has encouraged so many of you to take the plunge and helped you with the tricky process.

I have learned so much

In my last post, I said that there were so many things I didn’t know about blogging… and that’s still true! Let’s take a look and see if any of them have changed!

  1. Whether to go self-hosted – Done! Clearly, I made the right choice!
  2. How to use Bloglovin – I am not gonna lie – still confuses the hell out of me! My followers have grown on there since I started, but I very rarely check it… is it still a thing?
  3. How to use Pinterest – Done! I am actually quite proud of this one, Pinterest now brings the most traffic to my blog, and I have become quite obsessed with looking at pictures of makeup and cute skirts.
  4. How to increase Domain Authority – Done! I wouldn’t say I sought out to learn how to do this, it just kind of happened. When I went self-hosted, I installed the Yoast SEO plugin which has really helped me to optimise my posts! Since going self-hosted I have increased my DA from 1 to 16 in the space of around a month. I am so proud of that!
  5. How to take good pictures – eh kinda! I do think my pictures have improved a lot since my first posts (I know they’re bad). They are by no means amazing, and I am looking into buying a camera/lightbox, but they are so much better than before! I now love taking photos for my blog and I am always on the lookout for more props! You can see my before and after below.

Blogging

So I guess you could say, for the most part, I have learned so much in the past few months. There is still so much to learn, but I am very excited to carry on the adventure!

Engaging with you lovely lot!

When I first started blogging, I did enjoy speaking to other bloggers but it did scare the hell out of me! It still does sometimes! But since then, I have interacted with so many of you, and can even tell who’s post is who’s by just a photo. Everyone is so supportive and I love that you guys are on the ride with me. I may not be the biggest blogger, but that doesn’t matter as long as my posts help someone, somewhere.

The little blog is growing

I see everywhere on Twitter, people saying that numbers don’t matter and that if you care about numbers you are blogging for the wrong reasons. I will admit when I see these posts I get so angry. Don’t get me wrong, numbers don’t matter. It doesn’t matter whether you have one follower, or 1000. Whether your insta post has a few likes or 100s. It doesn’t matter. But I think we all can secretly agree, that we get happy when we reach a milestone, or get a comment on a post, or more views than normal. And that’s great! There is nothing wrong with celebrating statistics!

My blog isn’t massive at all. But it is growing. Some days are good, some bad but that’s life! I like to look at my stats, as it helps me set goals and want to improve my posts. Believe me, I write what I want to write and that will always be the case, but it is nice to know there are lots of you enjoying my stuff.

I am actually quite proud that I have managed to keep up blogging for so long. I have never been any good with hobbies, I always tend to quit quite quickly. But this hasn’t been the case with my blog because I truly enjoy it. I love thinking of what posts to write, and how I am going to take blog photos, and speaking to you all, and I hope It will continue for a long time.

I would like to take this moment to thank all of you who come and read my posts. This may be your first time, or 25th (I can’t believe I have written 25 posts wow) but thank you for taking the time to read. I didn’t think anyone would read my ramblings but I am so grateful for all of you who do.

Thank you for reading as always,

Chlo x

Hi, lovelies! I’m back again with another monthly favourites post! I originally intended this post to be posted at the beginning of March, but seeing as today is the last day of Feb, I thought why not?! I actually haven’t bought any new makeup this month (… I think, shock horror right?), but I did rediscover some old favourites that I love and thought I’d share them with you.

L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Glow Scrub

This was actually a very recent purchase, I only bought it less than a week ago but I love this. This is now my all-time favourite face exfoliator and I use it twice a day! My skin has gotten very dry recently and it started to look quite flaky (gross I know) and so I needed something quick to get it all smooth again. The scrub exfoliates gently and makes my skin look so much brighter and smoother, and feels so much cleaner. Ps. If you would like a skin care routine, let me know in the comments!

The Greatest Showman Soundtrack

If you follow me on Twitter you will know that this month I went to go watch The Greatest Showman – I fell in love. Like seriously, I love this film. Ever since I watched it I have had the soundtrack on repeat. It is BRILLIANT. Every time I listen to it, I feel motivated and inspired. TIP: Listen before writing blog posts for quick motivation haha. If you haven’t seen the film yet I would definitely recommend it. I listen to the music in the car and at work, I can’t get enough right now.

Too Faced Hangover Primer

With my dry ass skin recently, I needed something moisturising before putting on my foundation. I thought I would re-try my Too Faced Primer… and it’s been a life-saver this month! It is really hydrating and gives my skin a real moisture boost, and makes my foundation go on beautifully. It even made it into my post about high-end products worth the splurge, so it was guaranteed to be in this month’s favourites!

Benefit Dandelion Twinkle Highlighter

This one is another oldy but a goldy, I have basically used it every day for the past month! It gives such a subtle pink-toned glow which is great for a day-time look compared to my ultra-glowy highlighters. Despite this, you can still build it up to get that bright glow if you want it! It lasts all day long without looking greasy or wet looking. It has lasted so long without me hitting pan. Overall, definitely a great purchase if you can get your hands on it.

Primark ‘Gucci’ Handbag

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that Primark have some GREAT stuff at the minute (let me know if you want a spring haul). There are also a lot of accessories with Gucci vibes… including this bag! It is so stunning, and the beetle detail is beautiful. For only £7, it is a much more affordable alternative to the expensive Gucci vibes. With the black and gold features, it is so easy to style with any outfit and is big enough to fit in the essentials.

So those are my monthly favourites! What were your favourites this month? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading as always!
