Hi lovelies, I’m back with another review for you. Recently, I was very kindly gifted the REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream* by REN Skincare, and it couldn’t have arrived at a better time! If you read my skincare routine post last year, you will know that in the winter my skin can get very dry. I am always on the hunt for a new moisturiser, so I was really excited to try this one out! Keep reading to find out if it is worth the money.
REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream – The packaging:
This moisturiser is from the ‘Radiance’ collection, that you can find here. As the moisturiser contains Vitamin C, it was only right that the packaging was orange and white. The packaging is simple and states how the product should be used. The main thing that I noticed about this packaging is that it is a pump! I don’t know why I was so shocked by this?! I’ve been racking my brains and I am pretty sure that I have never used a moisturiser with a pump. I think this is a great idea as it is less messy and reduces product wastage. To make it even better, the bottle is clear, and the bottom of the bottle rises as you use the product. This means that you can use all of your product without wasting any, so you really get good value for money!
REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream – The ingredients:
Now obviously (the clue is in the name), this moisturiser contains vitamin C. This is great for illuminating the skin, which is perfect for when the skin gets duller during the winter months. Who says you can’t get that summer glow all year round? The product also contains Tara pod extract which apparently activates when it meets your skin’s natural microbiome. This again will illuminate the skin as well as help even the skin tone. Finally, another key ingredient is magnesium which will smooth, nourish and energise the skin. This all sounds pretty great, right? But does it actually work?
REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream – My thoughts:
One of the first thing that I noticed about this moisturiser is that it is orange. I assume this is to tie in with the vitamin C, but I don’t really have much of an opinion on it. It does make it easier to see how much product you have left which is good. After pumping some out onto my hand, I noticed that this moisturiser has a really strong scent of oranges. Like really strong. This reminds me so much of summer as all I can smell when I use it is the Calippo ice lollies. I don’t really mind the strong scent as it is quite pleasant. But if you’re somebody who doesn’t like using products with strong smells, this might not be for you! The bottle does say that there is no synthetic fragrance, so I can only assume the smell is from natural sources. This means it won’t damage the skin.
I use around 1 full pump (sometimes more if my skin is really dry), which seems to cover my whole face. It applies really easy and absorbs rapidly into the skin. I love this as it means I can get on with the rest of my morning routine pretty quickly. REN skincare claims that the moisturiser is good for all skin types, and, as it didn’t make my skin feel oily at all, I would definitely agree. I do think that the moisturiser hydrates my skin and makes it more illuminated, which I love!
Overall I really like this moisturiser! It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft without making me oily. The product has no harsh chemicals and did not irritate my skin one bit! One of the main selling points for me is that it is cruelty-free, and RENSkincare dedicate themselves to keeping the brand clean. The packaging has statements all over it about not testing on animals and tells you to recycle the box it comes in. Even the PR box that the products came in was 100% recyclable which is great!
I was also lucky enough to receive the REN Skincare ‘Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA tonic’ and ‘glycol lactic radiance renewal mask’ to try out. Let me know in the comments if you want a review!
I will definitely buy this moisturiser when I run out! What is your go-to moisturiser during the winter months? Let me know in the comments!
