Makeup Revolution was a brand that I never considered to buy, I always assumed that the low price meant that the quality of the products wouldn’t be up to scratch (a bit too snobby I know). After all the hype recently over the brand, I couldn’t resist and did a mini haul!
I thought I would do a little first impressions of the products I bought, If you would like a full review, let me know in the comments!
Unless you have been living under a rock recently, you will have definitely heard of the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer. This product has been all over YouTube, Instagram and Twitter and has been named the dupe of the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. If you know me, you will know that I cannot resist a hyped over product… I ALWAYS have to buy it just to see if it is worth all of the buzz!
One of my first thoughts about this product was that it had an amazing shade range … a total of 18 shades ranging from the very fair to the very deep. For a drugstore brand, I think this is brilliant and more higher known brands (*cough* Tarte) should definitely learn something from this release! I have very pale skin and so I got shade C2 (unfortunately C1 was sold out on Superdrug) but lucky for me its a great match!
I never did buy the Shape Tape concealer, mainly because it was difficult to shade match online for the price and so I can judge this concealer as a stand alone product with no expectations. I am pleased to announce, this is my new favourite concealer! If you follow me on twitter you will know that I have been quite sick recently, and this product has made my dark under eye circles completely disappear! It has great coverage and blends beautifully without creasing… and for £4 what more can you want!
I also thought I would purchase some of the Makeup Revolution Reloaded eyeshadow palettes. After much deliberation I decided to pick up the Iconic Vitality and the Iconic Fever palettes. Both of these are only £4 for 15 eyeshadows (WHAT?!), which at only 26p per eyeshadow is INSANE.
I have only played with these palettes a few times so far, but as first impressions go I am amazed! The shadows are Sooooo pigmented and blendable and exceptional value for money.
Iconic fever is a beautiful warm toned palette filled to the brim with beautiful burnt oranges, reds and purples which are perfect for all year round. There is a great mix of mattes and shimmers to create a wide variety of looks that work for both day and night!
Iconic Vitality is very similar to the Fever palette with again some beautiful burgundy and brown tones, but also the addition of a beautiful black to create some smokier looks. There are also some cooler toned colours in this palette and so has something for everyone!
Both of these palettes have beautiful, high quality eye shadows at such a great price point and I cannot wait to use them more to see exactly how they compare to the more expensive palettes in my collection.
Have you tried these palettes or any other makeup revolution palettes? What are you thoughts? Did you succumb to the hype of the Conceal and Define concealer, do you love it as much as I do? Would you like a more detailed review of any of these products?
